TFCG Presents Results of a Disturbance & Biodiversity Survey

 A study conducted by TFCG revealed that the Mamiwa Forest Reserve in Ukaguru Mountains, Kilosa District, Morogoro Region, home to over 70 rare bird species, may soon disappear, due to illegal logging, agriculture and mining activities. According to Elinas Monga, the Project Manager for forest justice in Tanzania, the survey revealed that increased human activities also threatened newly discovered endangered amphibian and bird species scientifically known as probreviceps durirostris and Moreau’s sunbird respectively.
